Thanks to an extremely generous, anonymous donation and an LSTA grant, the Cornell Public Library will become a MORE library. MORE is a consortium of 50+ public libraries in a 10-county area of west-central Wisconsin. MORE libraries share resources, so cardholders have access to over 1.4 million items. These include:
- Downloadable media like e-books, e-audiobooks, e-magazines, e-journals, and e-newspapers.
- Online learning and research resources, which includes genealogy sources, and tools for business and school.
- Faster turnaround and access to more options of books, movies, audiobooks, CDs, and other items from outside of our system.
Our patrons will have access to the MORE app, Libby, Flipster, Library Elf, and NoveList. You will be able to register for an e-card, manage your account, search the collection, reserve items and choose where to pick them up, save titles for later, renew items, place and manage holds, and get recommendations all online. You can search for libraries that have the programs and services you are looking for, as well as participate in other MORE programs offered. If you would like to check out the MORE website for more information it is https://www.more.lib.wi.us/.
We have MORE project managers and volunteers at the library working with our staff to get our collection barcoded and entered in our new software. The plan is to go live July 5, 2023. Follow us on Facebook or check out our website cornellpl.org for the latest updates. Any questions, please ask!
